As far as the Knitting Olympics bag is going, I've gotten past the Fibonacci colorchange and am about to re-twist the wave from the bottom.
I just measured it — the bag will be about 9 inches high after I finish with the wave. Before fulling. The specs had the finished height at 17 inches before fulling; the final height is 12 inches. A handbag is nice and all, but I really want a Satchel-sized bag in all its 12-inch glory. (Yes, I'm being a size queen, Dustro. As usual.)
You see, I didn't really get a chance to swatch with this yarn — not that I would have, mind you. I'm not a swatcher. But I didn't realize that the mosaic-ish-ness of it would make it so ... tubular.
So I think that I will clip the yarns where I have them and begin again, doubled. Maybe I do have enough yarn after all. I mean, I haven't even touched the Highland Green yet ...
And I'm beginning to think that the vertical stripes, at least the little ones, are ugly.
